Precinct8
is one of nearly 50 geographical divisions here in the
town of Bolingbrook. It is comprised of about 1000 households.
The geographical boundaries span from the I-355 Toll way
to the east over to Pinecrest Rd., at the west and Rockhurst
Street is the northern cutoff, down to the I55 interstate
at the south (see map below.
Our Precinct is practically totally residential, with
a few business units located within it including a beauty
salon, a marine and boat store, a restaurant supply house.
Surrounding the precinct is a multitude of businesses,
shops and stores to meet practically every need. There
are also small businesses run out of the homes (SOHOs)
of quite a few of our residents. The Elementary school
for our Precinct is the J.R. Tibbott School on Pinecrest
and Gary streets, with the Middle School being Hubert
Humphrey off Janes and Falconridge Way. The High school
for our precinct is Bolingbrook High on Lilly Cache and
Schmidt.
The demographics and economic make up of our precinct
is a "mini-melting pot" and is quite varied
as are the interests, talents and household sizes and
styles. There are homes as old as the Village itself (4l
years) down to newer homes which were built just this
year. A brand new street was added in the past two years,
known as Stonegate and it runs parallel to the I355 Tollway.
We have no apartment buildings in the precinct; all homes
are single-family units.
The precinct is very family oriented and residents frequent
the parks, healthclubs, walking paths and neighboring
golf clubs, lake and fishing hole along with stores and
other places of business on the outskirts. A brand new
mall is currently being constructed at our North (opening
scheduled for the Spring of 2007) which will accommodate
over 45 stores and shops
this mall is the first built
in our town and is one of the few built in the Chicagoland
area during the past 21 years. Some of the big name stores
that will occupy the mall include Macy's, Bass Pro, Chico's,
Jared's Jeweler and so many more. The new IKEA store is
already open and sits diagonal to the new mall off Boughton
and Janes.
The precinct is located in a
great area, with easy access to all the major highways
and interstates serving our town.
